HE SHENG Dairy Breeding Farm

1. Hesheng dairy breeding farm is located in Fubao District, Changhua, one of the four main dairy farm districts in Taiwan. During 1973, with the help of the government promoting the development of dairy industry in this district, Hesheng farm was initially founded by Mr. Huang, Jinlong. 　　

2. The farm started acquiring dairy cows in 1991, with about 40 cattle when Mr. Huang, Zhigen took over the farm, and after 20 years hard working, the farm has gradually developed into Hesheng dairy breeding farm.

3. Currently, the farm has over 300 cattle with about 130 lactating cows, and has begun to propagate a small amount of breeding heifers for the market.

4. Mr. Huang, Zhigen’s direction of breeding considers the health of the breeding animal as first priority, judged by the body type, legs and hoof of the cattle. The milk production of the cow is considered secondly.

5. Artificial insemination is used to improve the genetic performance, using sorted sexed semen for new heifers, and regular semen for cows.
